The current name brands comprising ITW Insulation Systems are Pabco and Childers Metals.
Pabco was formerly a part of the industrial products group of Fibreboard Corporation. Pabco
began manufacturing metal jacketing products to protect the pipe insulation in 1974 with its
acquisition of T&H Metals of Palestine, Texas. T&H Metals was owned by Herman Traylor and
Walter Holland, who were innovators in the manufacturing of pressed elbow covers. While a
part of Fibreboard Corporation, the Pabco group also manufactured calcium silicate industrial pipe
insulation.

Childers Metals was formerly a part of Childers Products Company, which manufactured metal jacketing
products along with mastics, coatings, adhesives and sealants. Childers Metals traces its
origins back to 1948, when Robert Childers formed Childers Manufacturing Company in Houston, Texas. Mr.
Childers was the originator of corrugated aluminum jacketing with moisture barrier.
