TRYMER® Supercel Phenolic Insulation:  Coming June 1, 2012

ITW Insulation Systems is pleased to announce to all Distributors, Fabricators and End Users of ITW Insulation Systems products that, coming June 1, 2012, we will be adding our new TRYMER Supercel Phenolic Insulation to our line of Foam Insulation products.  TRYMER Supercel will offer increased uniformity throughout the foam and will have a very low (good) thermal conductivity and an exceptionally low flammability.

TRYMER Supercel Phenolic Insulation is a closed-cell rigid phenolic foam insulation that will be supplied in the form of large buns for fabrication into pipe shells, curved segments, sheets, tank and vessel coverings, and other shapes for a variety of thermal insulation applications.  It is specifically formulated for easy fabrication into many shapes, such as pipe coverings, valve and fitting covers, and others to meet specific design needs.  And, in maintaining compliance with the Montreal Protocol and the Clean Air Act, TRYMER Supercel Insulation will be manufactured with hydrocarbon blowing agents, which have no ozone depletion potential (0 ODP), being specifically formulated to provide excellent thermal insulating performance without the use of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) or hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) blowing agents.

The billet size is a consistent yield of 26" Width x 36.5" Length x 41" Height (2.5 lbs/ft3 density product)

  • This more closely replicates the size of our standard Trymer T2000XP billets, which our customers' profile machines and employees are accustomed to working with.
  • This allows ease of fabrication with no changes in height from billet to billet, eliminating the need for changes to profiler programming.
  • This size allows more efficient handling and storage.
  • This standard size will make the issuance of Purchase Orders and our Invoicing consistent and easy to follow just like our Trymer PIR products.

As always, ITW Insulation Systems will continue to provide the highest level of technical documentation and other assistance to fulfill the support needs of our Distributors and Fabricators, as well as End Users of our products.  We are preparing our technical literature at this moment to have it fully available to all who may need it.  That will be accessible through this website and our technical support professionals will also be ready to provide whatever additional assistance may be needed.

Finally; ITW Insulation Systems certifies that TRYMER Supercel Phenolic Insulation will be compliant with Section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Look for it on June 1st!

Announcement Regarding Oregon Law Regulating Brominated Diphenyl Ether

March 23, 2011

To: Fabricators and Distributors of ITW Insulation Systems Products

Re: Product Compliance to Oregon Law Regulating Brominated Diphenyl Ether

As you may be aware, on January 1, 2011 the state of Oregon promulgated a law related to certain brominated diphenyl ether flame retardants. Pursuant to Oregon Revised Statutes 453.005(7)(e), the following three specific flame retardant chemicals are now defined as hazardous substances and it is unlawful for any person to introduce into commerce or deliver for introduction into commerce in Oregon any product containing greater than 0.10% by weight of these materials.

1. Pentabrominated diphenyl ether     CAS # 32534-81-9
2. Octabrominated diphenyl ether      CAS # 32536-52-0
3. Decabrominated diphenyl ether      CAS # 1163-19-5

There are various exceptions to this law but these do not apply to insulation products.

ITW Insulation Systems does not analyze our raw materials for the above chemicals. However, we have contacted our suppliers and they indicate that the chemicals listed above are not used in the manufacturing or the formulation of products sold to ITW Insulation Systems. In addition, ITW Insulation Systems does not use any of these chemicals in our manufacturing.

Based on this investigation, ITW Insulation Systems states that to the best of our knowledge, all of our insulation, vapor retarder, and metal jacketing products listed below comply with this new Oregon law related to brominated diphenyl ether flame retardants.

Trymer* PIR Insulation
Trymer Green Phenolic Insulation
XPS Pipe Insulation Billet
Saran Vapor Retarder Film and Tape
